I'm sure overnight care starts after 10pm.
I prefer to work till 5.30pm at the latest, but will go to 6pm when needed. I have done till 9 o'clock in the past, but that was a one off.
I thought it was from 10pm, but i could be wrong. I would feel sorry for the child especially if they had been dropped of at 6am or something that is a very long day to be away from mum and dad.

I start at 730am and finish at 6pm.
Well im not sure about the latest time before registering for overnight, but i have most till 6pm, but sometimes till 8pm.
My doors close at 6pm and they are usually gone by that time or I am tapping my fingers and waiting at the front door (Fridays!). I really don't want to work passed that as I have other things to do and consider 55 hour week long enough
Debbie
I start at 7.45 - finish at 4 or 5
Twice a week i work from 7.00am til 10.15pm, some days the time flys but the rest of the week it's 7.00am til 6.30pm.
John.
I am registered for overnight care and there isn't a specific time. If i was up and cared for a child until 3am it wouldn't be overnight unless i had actually gone to bed myself. All the licence does is allow you to care for children whilst you yourself are asleep.
I regularly work until 8pm and start at 645 am as i work for hospital staff. Its not everyday and sometimes i find sift workers better as no two weeks are the same in respect of which children i have at any one time.
I'm not paranoid - the world IS out to get me!
Penny is right as long your awake with the child it's not classed as over night, I don't do over night care myself but phoned a mate of mine a childminder that's does over nights and she said over night starts when you go to bed.

I had a call a few days ago for a lo 16mths old they wanted care from 5.15am till 10.30pm 7days a week. I said sorry I couldnt help them dad was a bit off, also rang my friend and moaned that his wife would now have to give up work to look after her.
meant parents!
OMG! Cuddly bunny, that's insane hours! Wonder if he ever found anyone?

At the moment the latest I physically have children is 5.30pm, but have just agreed to do till 7pm for 4 weeks as mum has a big project on at work.

dont know, my friend suggested they look for an au pair, but we also thought why have a child if your not with them, he seemed a bit put out that his wife would have to give uo work. in my mind though your kids come first so if thats what you have to do you do.
In general I finish at 6pm, sometimes I'm lucky and every one is gone by half five, but not often!!! Occasionally I will work up later, but only occasionally and at a higher rate.
