Default Benefits: does any one know...

    Morning,
Does any one know if there is any sort of benefit I can claim whilst Im off work with my leg.
If you havent seen my recent posts, Ive had a tussle with a run away Landrover, and hurt my leg in the process, cant bear weight on it still (been a week) and am on crutches, and will be quite possibly (thats how long the Dr says it could take to heal) for the next 6 weeks.
So cant work, so no money coming in.

I thought if your were self employed & paid your national insurance contributions then you could claim ssp?

    Take a look on www.dwp.gov.uk

You should find some info on there

Hi, I also am off work for at least a month with siatica! I phoned job centre plus, filled in forms over the telephone and hopefully should be able to get employement support which is the new incapasity benefit i think. The only thing is the guy said it can take 4 weeks to sort out, a long time with no money!!! Hope your legs better soon x
