Child self registration

I've never heard of this until today and I was wondering if anyone does this? There are some cards you can print off on Sparklebox where the children can add their name and put it on the side when they arrive in the mornings.

Do any of you do this and do the children enjoy it? It's a good way of getting them to learn to write their names too

They do this at the pre-school one of mine attends. They either put the children's names on their chair and ask them to sit on the chair which has their name on it. Or else they put all the names on the table and the children take turns to select their own name.

Not sure if it would work at my home though. I have a little one who moves everything no matter where it is!!

I have photos and names written underneath.

The children find their photo when they get here and put it up.

I got names every where

I have names on coat pegs, they each have their own food/snack boxes, towels in toilet/wash room, on their shoe/spare clothes boxes

I will be doing this just as soon as i have a moment to organise it. My sons pre school did this and a few fellow minders do. Good idea me thinks!!

yep name with photo and they peg it onto a bit of string that is in the hall even my own son does it!

ooo i like the idea of pegging name onto some string! i was thinking about a board to put them on, and thinking DH was going to start moaning 'whole house looks like a nursery' again, but a little bit of string .... and a few pegs ...

I have a hanging shelf system, and the children have vecro cards with thier photo and name on. When they get in they find thier name, put it on a shelf and put all thier stuff in that shelf. The shelf is fabric, so folds up in a cupboard at the end of the day.

i dont have the frame, just put it on a coat hanger and hang it on the lounge door.

i have used space ships cut outs with photos of the children on and i used velcro so they can attach them to the space picture that i have put up on the wall in the hall by the front door

i have a plastic wallet at the side where i keep the spare cut outs

I have a big sheet of card on the wall with velcro on and the children have cards with "Im here" then their pic underneath and then their name under that.

I started this yesterday and I laminated an A3 sheet of paper and stuck it to my shelf so the children can put them on theirselves using blu-tac

I have done the photos with names since i registered but now as i wanted to encourage name recognition i have made a big tree and they have to find the Monkey holding their name! will try and do a photo

I have two new little ones starting today and I noticied the 4-year-old tries to write his name but he puts his christian name on two lines bless him. The self registration cards have the names printed on and room for them to copy it underneath. I am hoping this will help him
