    I could do with a bit of advice concerning training courses.
    I registered in October 2006 but only got my first mindee in Feb 07,
    I would like to attend some courses or prehap do a NVQ, but have no idea what to start with.

    u have obviously done first aid, what about a child abuse awareness course or a basic hygiene course, theres behaviour courses out there too. im busy doing NVQ level 3 in childrens care, learning and development, but im not childminding yet so have alot more free time for the moment, some ppl are also doing the DHC courses, a follow on from the icp, and others r doing some distance learning ones, not sure what they are tho. ask your local college or your area support worker and see whats available

    Thanks for replying, I don't have a support worker. rang her loads of times and she never got back to me.

    Oh yes, ta. I did my ICP in 2005 so completely forgot what it was called.

    Depends what level you are starting from... you could either go straight in on a level 3 nvq childcare or start more slowly on a level 2...

    There's lots of info in the past posts if you have a nosey around.

    You really need to know what your local authority are willing to fund as well... I'd ring the CIS if I were you!
