    Default second hand?

hi all well this is weird , had a couple bring their baby yesterday and they really want her to come here, start monday well said that was fine but had to get double buggy this weekend as already mind oe same age( 14 months) will be hard work but fun think they will get along great and wiill entertain each other to an extent ...anyway the weird bit is, went up to top of road to get money out the cash machine to go to town and look for a buggy. that was out of order so had to go further up the road to another bank .this took me past a charity shop and guess what was in the window... only a double buggy went in to look and it was lovely ,clean and sturdy, its a tandem but not long like a train, really compact but comfy looking, and all of 15 pounds!!well i bought it as seemed daft not to at the price. but i really dont know if we are allowed to buy stuff like this , what do ofsted say or dont they ask? its got a bs kite mark thing on the side. cant really find the make, just says classique which ive never heard of. well i still went to town but none of the buggies seemed as easy to push,so just came home and scrubbed it and think ill try it and see how it goes. what do you all think, is it ok to use second hand prams? any advice appreciated x

you can buy ans use second hand items as long as they are clean, sturdy and safe for the children.

only thing i would say is a NO GO would be car seats.

ha ha thanks everyone , yes i absolutely think it was fate- wouldnt normally have gone to that cash machine so wouldnt have seen it and would have just got a new one. cant wait to try it on monday - have been pushing it round the house all day trying to imagine having 2 littlies in it. even put 2 big bags of shopping in it to see how heavy it was anyway just off to get a lottery ticket seeing its my lucky day x

You're definately meant to have that buggy! Mine is second hand too. As long as you regularly check and note on your maintenance log you'll be fine.

when i had my pre-reg inspection and the inspector asked me how i would be able to provide a lot of different toys quickly for children and i said i would go to car boots etc and make sure everything was clean and safe and she said that was the answer she was looking for!!! i think as someone else has already said the only think you shouldn't buy 2nd hand is a car seat as you don't know its history, some can look fine but be mangled on the inside!

As someone has already mentioned second hand buggies are fine the only thing I was told not to buy second hand is car seats because you don't know if they have been involvled in an accident.
