    It is an old document, not current and not required.

    Some find it useful/interesting, personally I have never seen it (before my time)

    I agree. Useful information in there, but you'll find 'essential reading' very quickly becomes 'historic document' in the weird world of childcare.

    Birth to 3 matters is still available from the Foundation Years website
    It is an extensive guide to child development and will never go out of fashion...many practitioners still use it to get guidance from it

    If you google it you will find how widely used it is
