    Default What age is adult

One of my mindees parents has told me that she wants her 16 year old sister to pick the child up every now and then, is this allowed? or does the person picking up need to be over 18?

    Thank you

    im not sure but
when you have to register any adults that live in your house
it is anyone over the age of 16
so i think 16 would be classed as adult iysim

That's a good point but there would possibly be an exception if they were the parents?

We discussed this on my recent ICP course and you are not legally classed as an adult until you are 18 and I'm sure they said that anyone under 18 shouldn't collect a child.

I'm sure someone more knowledgable will come along and clarify it though!

Surely if you get written consent from the parent for this, then it will be ok?

Oh there is a thread i started awhile ago about this. Ill have a hunt in a sec. The outcome was mixed with other forum members but i spoke to NCMA and they said it was fine with a permission form. The mindee never lasted though. I was going to get her to sign him out each time as well.
