Default dhc vs nvq l3 ccld

    which one to go with???

in sheffield we do not do an ICP, we do a DQP, which is more in depth than the ICP. so I think this still would count as unit 1 of dhc, but am I right in thinking that dhc is being fazed out and that ccld is the way to go???

I thought the CCP (Certificate in Childminding Practice) is being phased out and the DHC was the replacement.

The DHC and the CCLD are qualifications on the same level. The DHC is specific to home-caring whereas the CCLD is a general child-care development qualification. If you, at some later stage, would prefer to move from childminding to some other childcare work the CCLD is more portable. Having said that I secured the job I am doing now with the old CCP instead of an NVQ3, but I want to return to childminding.
