    Default Pregnant

I've just found out I'm pregnant! I only have one family I care for and they only started here in January. One of the questions they asked me when we first met was if I was going to have another baby (I have a 21 month DS) and I said not for a while! I'm really worried about telling them, we have a really good relationship but I just feel like I'm letting them down! Obviously over the moon that we're having another baby but its just a bit sooner than expected!

I'm really not sure how to tell them!

First of congratulations. So happy for you.

Second don't tell them yet wait till first scan at very least if not a bit longer.

I think I waited till 15 weeks to tell mine.

Have a think about if you want to take time off or if you want to go back to work. Find another cm that would be willing to do cover and then tell them as you will have all the answers to any questions they might have

Thanks everyone! I wasn't sure if I should tell them as I don't want them to think I'm hiding things but yes I'll wait til the 12 week scan - that's what I did with the first one when I was working in events, I guess it's not really any different! Exciting times ahead

when i was about 15weeks pregnant with DD i took a child on a temporary contract for 3 months ... mum then asked to extend for another 3 months ... i said i could do 2 1/2 months, but then i was stopping as expecting a baby a couple of weeks later ... BLESS! ... she hadn't remembered i had told her at the start ( it was all a bit sudden and emergency type care and mum was a touch scatty to put it mildly! ) and said she just thought i was 'comfortably plump', but now she looked, she could see it was a baby bump!

Congratulations! You must be over the moon

I am 29 weeks pregnant and told my families at 16 weeks (I carry small) - making sure I did so before I told anyone else locally (apart from close friends and family of course). I asked other CM's if they could cover for me and have compiled a list of local CM's who they can arrange cover with. Good luck with your pregnancy and with telling your family, I am sure they will be delighted for you.

Funny how people look at bumps isn't it. I ended up losing weight while pregnant I went in a size 14 and came out a size 12. Made all the doctors panic then had a healthy baby. Could of got away without telling anyone as I never looked pregnant.

Congratulations I'd ditto what the others have said wait till after scan or you are showing. I don't think they would feel let down and if they did tough on them lol. Its your family and your choices about having more kids that matter most. like previous poster I think said you could sort out some maternity childminding cover for them. If your helpful to them I'm sure they will just be pleased for you.
