Chicken pox and siblings
One of the children I care for has got chicken pox, mum knows I wont have him until scabbed over but want to know if I will have sibling who doesnt appear to have it . What would you do ?

You cant really refuse a child who may or may not get chicken pox.
Some children don't get chicken pox at all or months later than their siblings.

I agree with FussyElmo. I wouldn't exclude the sibling of a mindee with chickenpox, but I would make it clear that at the first sign of illness I would be phoning for them to be collected.

I'd also make sure people are informed that chicken pox is around, in case they are not immune and pg or have had chemo or anything, they ought to know that it's around but it's up to them if they keep away or not.
