Toys crafts am i on the right line with?

I started to set up the main playroom Although I be useing the living room two I have brought a few things for all those that have been doing it a while any sujesting or will I be ok Here some pictures of what I got I all o put a to z on one wall and one to fivety on another.

Hi am fairly new myself so am learning too Just remember you dont need everything at once, maybe wait to see what age range the children will be in and go from there. Your resources will soon build up. Also look out for car boot sales, charity shop goodies etc cos I know how expensive it can get. Good luck

All the things you have look good.
Most of my enquiries seem to be either for schoolies or for younger children (around 9-18 months), where mum is returning to work for the first time after having the child. I get far fewer enquiries for 2-4 year olds, perhaps because they are already in settings elsewhere. So it might be a good idea to put together a box of nice toys for babies/toddlers. That way you have something to put out when mums come for the initial visits. Perhaps some colourful toddler instruments or electronic toys. These always seem to fascinate the little ones. Also, maybe a colourful rug or playmat, so mum has somewhere inviting to put the baby down while you chat.

Hi treasure baskets are a good thing to have. Also I have an interest draw which has lots of odd bits in like glasses, handcuffs, old phones, old cameras, bus and train tickets, keys, and other bits to encourage play. Car boot sales and charity shops have been a god send as I have brought lots of bit from there as well as eBay and Facebook selling sites.

Looking good, Definetly more baby things for initial visits then I would wait and see what age and what interests your first mindees,have a pot of money and some ideas of where to shop. Keep a look out in charity shops and e bay and Facebook selling pages for bargains.

Don't buy anything else new until you know what ages you will be minding - search local charity shops, car boot sales, nct nearly new sales and get some more things to compliment what you have - ie: more animals, dinosaurs - could be plastic then they can use them in sand pit or other messy tray or could be soft toy animals so you can make up some story sacks. You can make your own playdough - recipes on line, I make a cooked version with flour, cream of tartar, cooking oil, salt and water - i'm mean I don't make coloured just scented by adding some vanilla, mint or orange essence. Love your junk modelling craft box - make sure you buy good quality strong pva glue - I tried it with Asda's own and it was rubbish - barely stuck paper together let alone cardboard and yoghurt pots!

I to am fairly new and I don't have chn of my own so I had no resources whatsoever!! I put a plea out on my Facebook status just before Xmas askin anyone who was clearing out toys to inbox me with a price. I recd lots of useful toys that way and paid next to nothin for them. Some people were really generous and gave them to me for free!!! Give it a go, it's worth a try

Looks good as others have said wait and see what ages you get and build your stock up from there. personaly I dont have crayons etc in the play room as I like my walls and toys the colours they are! I would also watch the foam numbers as they will get eaten or ripped if your not carefull it really depends on what childrne you get as to how carful they are with toys,, I have 2 and 3yrolds who treat the toys beautifuly yet I have a 5 and 9yrold who would just destroy everything so that (in the words of the 5yrold) 'no one esle can play with them', hopefully you will get some lovely childrne!
