    if your registered then yes, my friend used to do it, the mum got tax credits to help with payment, Congratulations

    Yes - but my understanding is that you must also take on other children.

    You should check with Ofsted for the latest guidance - 0300 1231231.

    Hiya. Yes u can if yr registered and you do have to take on other children. I rang ofsted when i became a grandma two years ago. Congratulations too youre going to love it xxx

    Sarah is right. I started CMing cos I already looked after my grandchildren and other mums at school asked if I'd have their lo's too - so I decided to do it properly.

    You do need to have other children on the books and Ofsted will need the non-family children to be present at inspection. It can also confuse the heck out of the HMRC advice line people, who seem to have no idea whether you should put the grandchildren's fees through the accounts, claim expenses relating to them, etc.
