notifiying ofsted builders coming

I understand I need to tell Ofsted that I am having a conservatory built, therefore having builders on my property, do I ring them or will an e-mail sufice?.

I would have thought an email would be fine, i would include a contact phone number that way if they want to speak to you they can do so. With other things they have told me that an email is fine.

I always ring them because then I can note down who I told, date, time, reference etc - they might lose an email...
