This is a question I am often asked about - what is leadership? How is it relevant to childminders?

I took part in a recent #EYTalking discussion on Twitter about leadership and I have written the following information for my own CPD.

Next week #EYTalking will be discussing 'Business development'...
that will be interesting because as NON Agency cms that will be very crucial, how to sell our independent practice to parents, how to pitch our fees and above all if we are to be included in the funding for 2, 3 and 4 year olds that means we may get less for the Free Entitlement and 2 year olds will only need care for 38 weeks and often only for the 15 hours...so how do we fill the remaining hours?

In addition we need to look at cost of training, advertising and Ofsted fee 'if' that changes...

All associations should offer that sort of support via their forums..this one is better because the participants are from all parts of the workforce and very inclusive of cms too!!
