Well I have started it and I can tell you it does take a long time. You are well advised to find a quiet room to do it. I would also write it in Word first then copy onto the Ofsted website to avoid losing your work.

Note, you are not required to do it but will be required to show how you reflect on your practice. My advice is, if Ofsted would 'like' you to do it then just do it. It may make your inspection easier if the inspector has an idea of your practice first.

Follow the advisory notes you find on the website. Sarah on this forum has also done a helpful fact sheet.

Sarah, didn't you have another SEF help document? It follows the Ofsted one closely with other helpful bits in between. Can't remember where I got it from.

Sarah's e-book was a great help to me. I answered the SEF questions using the Ofsted Guidance first, then went through it again using Sarah's book and added loads that I'd forgotten/not even considered before! My SEF may well be the longest ever, but at least I know I've bragged about all the good stuff I do!

It's just on my mind to do it all the time. I'd better get on and finish it before I get the call!

This document - also in free resources - has the questions and the Ofsted guidance -

    SEF Ofsted

Are you thinking about the Information Guide I wrote for Babysitters, Childminders, Nannies, Nanny Jobs, Private Tutors - Childcare.co.uk gold members Rick? That's in the member section of the site...

Or I have an e-book on my Knutsford Childminding | Sarah Neville - Registered Childminder website - e-book 18 - maybe it's that??

I write so much I forget myself sometimes

Yes it's the one on childcare.co.uk!

I find useful information and save it to my computer but don't always remember where it came from!
