    Question RA ratios???

I'm just creating my RA's and was just about to start on the 'outings' section. I'm a little confused with a sentence in the statutory framework. It says

'For each type of outing, providers must carry out a full risk assessment, which includes an assessment of required adult:child ratios.'

I thought that when I'm registered and Ofsted have confirmed what numbers I can have, then I can take them on outings regardless so long as I don't go over my numbers. Does that make sense?

    What does this actually mean?

    Yes thats right.

However there are for instance some outings that I do that I don't do on my own because I deem that I need a higher adult to child ratio. I wait until the holidays when my dh assistant and teenage children are around or I ask a friend to come with us. This is noted in my RA.

I think though fro what you are referring to remember that EYFS is used by schools and other settings that have different ratios.

I think that bit normally refers to schools who will have a 1 - 2 ratio on outings.

However I always make a note on my outings RAs that I am within ratios
