Do I need to print out several and use one for each type of outing ie. the different toddler groups, the different parks, visiting friends houses, different softplays etc.....

If you went to several of these establishments you'd have a lot of ra's.

    thanks
Yep you need one RA for each type of outing... I have over 25 and they took AGES to do but Ofsted were pleased with them.

Thanks for the link btw, lots of useful info there.

I know. I always check Bromley. I've been working on a new updated one of my own but this is really good. Think I will use it.

    Thanks for posting.

I've printed out several copies of the outing's template and complete them for every outing we go on - yes it takes 10 minutes in the morning before the kids arrive, but they are filling up my folder ready to show at my next inspection.

I found this template very generic and I am able to add specific measures to individual outings we go on. I initially tried to have pre-typed risk assessments in place for different outings e.g mondays childminding group or wednesdays playgroup, but it depends on what children I have on that day, how we'll get there, the weather and whats happening at the group. I found a generic risk assessment like the template on this website much easier to apply to every outing situation.

I'm in South Gloucs like Tammy and these sheets are very good and our developmental worker whose name starts with A is a gem!
I've done RA for lots of outings and sometimes I might go somewhere new and take a RA sheet with me (mostly completed) and then when I get to the place I'll make a note of all the other things.
Lots of these places I would not even get to visit beforehand (playgroups) so sometimes you have to go out with no RA, but have the sheet on you as an on-going job, IYKWIM?

That's a brilliant website so much useful information - need to up-date my policies as well and have printed out their prompts to help me ensure I have all relevant info.

Hi Helen and welcome to the forum.

This particular thread is over 3 years old but the first post directs to a site giving examples of risk assessments and these are the ones I mainly use as I find them very good - below is the link to the outings RA
