Bus journeys

Can anybody give me some pointers for a bus journey risk assessment please?
As I don't drive most of our journeys will be on foot or by bus - I have done a walking risk assessment, but am stumped when it comes to the bus one
Total mind blank!

children to remain seated
waiting while bus stops before getting up

Just off the top of my head hth xx

if the bus breaks down or is in an aciddent
would you take the mindees understairs if its a double decker

I use the bus a lot - live in a village and don't drive

stand at bus stop away from road - hold hands/reins/buggy.
Use seatbelts if provided - as they are on our bus, but not on town buses very often
Walkers go on in front of me and sit next to me, then I get off first followed by them to hold buggy.
Use reins if necessary
remain seated till bus stops

that's off the top of my head kids love the village bus as the old folks are a routine bunch and get to know them.

Hardest thing is saying 'No' when the bus is busy and an oldie says they can 'sit with me if you like'. Don't like to hurt their feelings but they are my responsibility.

Ask the driver not to pull off until lo's are seated. Our local drivers are very good, already trained to do this. In some towns they seem to delight in sending passengers spinning toward the rear seats.

the best way of getting off a bus with a buggy is going off backwards
there is less risk of getting caught between the bus and the kerb.
i catch about 4 buses a day and get very strange looks of the drivers if i get on by myself
