Hi. Do I have to register as an employer even if my assistant earns less than £111 per week? My husband has been my assistant up until now but I've never paid him, is this why I haven't been told to register as an employer? Confused!!!
    Please help, thank you x

I don't know about registering as an employer with tax people, but I did get PLI as an employer.

my assistant was self employed and she used to invoice me for hours worked each month, and I then paid her, and she was liable for her own tax and insurance. so I used to put her fees down as an expense.
