I'm after some advice please. My inspection is overdue and I've just realised I haven't informed Ofsted or crb of my assistants name change as she is now married. Do Ofsted check ID of your assistant when they inspect?

Why don't you email Ofsted about the name change? And then you have informed them. You could also ask your assistant to bring in her marriage certificate (probably hasn't had time to lose it! lol). Don't think you need to redo the CRB check but I could be wrong.
