    Default ofsted charging for crb

having received notification of proposed changes from ofsted I phoned Friday to clarify that from 1st July ofsted no longer meet the cost of crb checks. This will affect childminders wishing to employ assistants or notifying ofsted of household members over 16.Capital will now charge minimum £52.00 for a CRB check. However a reduced rate may be charged if an individual already has a CRB disclosure.

MY son will be 16 next year, so I'll have to pay it then. I thought it was £44 though?

The bit I didn't understand was it said that you can pay a 'small' annual fee to keep it up to date. I have since found somewhere that said this 'small' annual fee is £13. That's not small at all when you have 4 grown up children & a husband in the house! If I had to pay an annual fee for each one of us it would add up to £78 a year!

Of course, as things stand at the moment we haven't got to redo ours, but I couldn't understand from the info if everyone who has the new DBS has to pay the annual fee or not?
