Default numbers when working with co-minder?

Hi I know what the numbers are if working with an assistant/co-minder but what if you already have a variation?
so say have 4 children on one day and then you start working with another registered childminder? does the 4th child still get counted in my numbers so the other childminder could have another 3 under 5's? or would it still be 3 each? therefore I would lose a child or the other minder would be restricted to 2 children?

It is my understanding that you would have 6 between you but I might be wrong

what would happen if we had 6 between us and then there was siblings or extenuating circumstances? It seems strange to not have the same flexibility as other childminders?
I am considering working with another childminder on a temporary basis. it wouldn't be worth it if she could have only 2 children if I have 4 on some days. does anyone know if there is a factsheet anywhere with more guidance on this? I've been looking but can't find one!

I am not aware of a factsheet - it's very hard to know what to advise because there is a lack of guidance.

However, what we do know is that there's a big problem with planning permission if you care for more than 6 under 8 so that would need addressing.

I suggest you speak to Ofsted tomorrow and ask for their advice
