Hi,
I was reading a blog from a member who was having difficulty with Maths.
If you are doing an NVQ apprenticeship, functional skills are part of this, you should be given a functional skills
tutor who is qualified in the appropriate area e.g. Maths, he or she should be teaching you what you don't know. They should also be
supporting you when you are struggling.
Whoever you are doing your NVQ with, has a responsibility to ensure that you get this support and guidance.
If you don't pass your maths, they will not recieve the full amount of funding, so they should be trying very hard to get you through.
Also, the functional skills and other additional qualifications you are taking sit side by side with your vocational qualification and are not part
of it.
So, if they are not giving you the support and guidance you need to pass your maths etc, you can still walk away with your vocational
qualification.
Maybe do your maths etc in the future with a more supportive organisation.
Good Luck
