    Red face Pre-reg and URN

Hello, I have recently applied to Ofsted for Childminding. Just wondered if anyone can help me, it’s taken 4 months for my application to be accepted through the online system. I have now received a URN number. any idea how much longer Ofsted take to visit me and also what can I do with this URN number as I am not officially registered. Assuming I can’t work until they have came out? Thanks in advance x

No, you can not work until you are in possession of the certificate (so even that can be days/weeks after they come out to see you). Sadly the system is unpredictable and hold-ups can happen for all kinds of reasons. Keep chasing them up. Good luck.

Ofsted try to put through applications within 12 weeks and reports can take a few weeks to come through ... sadly it can be a lengthy process but hopefully it won't take long now!
