Re: salt dough baking ideas
We have done hand and foot prints before, and I also let them use plastic cookie cutters, with a bit of help (mine are all one year old)
I'm not sure of the exact instructions but I tend to put mine in on a very low heat for a few hours. The hand and foot prints were thicker so took much longer. You can leave them to air dry though, takes a few days.
Planning on making some Christmas decorations with salt dough this year and let the LOs loose with the glitter

Getting back to saltdough have a few recipes in my book so if you dont get a recipe from someone soon pm me.
Re: salt dough baking ideas
OMG thanks everyone for the fab ideas! Definately making christmas decs instead - maybe in two instalments. Whats the full recipe for the cinnamon decs please?? Thanks Dragonfly for offering the recipe
Re: salt dough baking ideas
You could also do stars and put sticks on them and say they are fireworks for bonfire night!
We're doing glittery salt dough for xmas this year. Also going to put food colouring into it and make candycanes with it!
I too would also love the cinnamon dough recipe please!!
Re: salt dough baking ideas
2 or 3 years ago i made gingerbread men with scented salt dough. We used cloves and all spice i think for eyes, buttons ect. We got them of the kitchen cuboard to see what he has made as he makes one each yr for family they still smell now its lovely. He is sewing mini stockings this year! Might do a salt dough one for 2 yr old mindee.
Re: salt dough baking ideas
Thats lovely. I also done Gingerbread men last year out of saltdough still have one the others went home with mindees, good idea about cloves we used peppercorns-cloves next time:thumbsup:
