Film: The Time Traveller's Wife
The Time Traveller's Wife:
Anyone planning to see this film which comes out soon?
I'd be interested to hear what you think of it as it is based on one of my all time favourite books, The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, I might even go to see it myself.
It is one of the few books I have read more than once (3 times to be exact!!) a rare thing for me to read a book more than once, so it must be good. I've read some classics a few times, but never a basic novel.
(A bit of strong language and sex so don't read the book if you might be offended)
Films are never as good as the book but I will be interested to see how they make the transition from page to screen. :)

I'm not saying the film will, but the book did. Not sure what rating it is.

Re: Film: The Time Traveller's Wife
I was only talking about it the other day to a c/m friend and we both said that we would love to see it. Its on at our local cinema in a few weks so i'll let you know what i think. It looks really good from the trailers.
I find that if you have read the book first the film is usually a bit of a dissapointment so it would be intresting to hear what you think of it .
Re: Film: The Time Traveller's Wife
I saw a trailer for this the other day and thought it looked interesting.
I doubt that I will get to see it at the pictures (that's it Angel is now going to call me fuddy duddy again!) as it is not Nigel (or Jack's) sort of film so will wait until out on DVD.
But after what you have said about the book pauline I think I will keep an eye out for it and read it

Re: Film: The Time Traveller's Wife
I saw the trailer when i saw My sisters keeper it looked good. I haven't read the book and was planning on getting it out of the library as its not dh type of film. I think i may read the book and then see what everyone says about the film. I was disapointed with my sisters keeper as i love the book.
Re: Film: The Time Traveller's Wife
I'm afraid I've never heard of this book?
Got to say though every single time I've seen a film after reading the book I have been so disappointed. Books, in my opinion, are so much better.
Even Jurassic Park, the book was fantastic but the film was terrible, not like the book at all!
Re: Film: The Time Traveller's Wife
I loved the book and wonder whether I'll be disappointed with the film. I rarely go to the cinema though, so will wait for the dvd.
Re: Film: The Time Traveller's Wife
I'm 3/4 of the way through the book at the moment, so will be going to see it next week once I've finished. Bet it's not as good as the book!
Re: Film: The Time Traveller's Wife
I can't wait to see this film. I loved the book, too, Pauline. I read it years ago and was so excited when I found they were making a film. And especially cos Eric Bana is playing Henry!!! :clapping:
I hope they don't leave the sex scenes out! It's so important to feel all of Clare and Henry's romance, it's the crux of the entire book (and film, I really hope!).
Re: Film: The Time Traveller's Wife
Just bumping this up. Anyone been to see it?
Re: Film: The Time Traveller's Wife
Haven't seen it but I loved the book too.
Re: Film: The Time Traveller's Wife
Went to see it on Wednesday night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Must admit that it is a while since I read the book and whilst (as far as I can remember) there are a few bits missing it has been done really well, which must have been difficult as it is not the easiest story line to follow.
