Self isolation times

Does anyone have a link to a straightforward guide on who/when/how long people should be isolating in a childminding setting? Or who/when someone should be tested?

I’ve read so much I’m just confusing myself!

What if I or a member of my household have been in contact with someone who has suspected C19, or is tested positive? What if one of us has symptoms?
What if a minded child’s family member has symptoms or is tested positive?
What if a minded child has symptoms?

I’ve been trying to draw up some sort of flowchart but can’t seem to find specific information for childminders. I’ve read official guidance, but that seems to be for childcare settings and their definition of ‘household member’ is different to ours because a nursery staff’s household members wouldn’t have been in the setting whereas our household members would have been in our setting.

So if a mindee shows symptoms you send home do a deep clean but can carry on working. Their household has to self isolate for 14 days If they get a negative test they can come back and self isolation ends. If they test positive you have to close and all the mindees have to self isolate until a test confirms negative. The household members dont unless they show symptoms.

If you are in contact with someone who is positive and are contacted by track and test you have to self isolate for 14 since you last saw them. So if you are contacted on day 7 you have 7 days isolation. Your household again dont have to self isolate unless they display symptoms

This information says childminders families dont have to self isolate even with a positive test from a mindee

ooooo, that's a bit scary .... BUT, if they've not come into contact with that child, then that makes sense.


I understood that if a child shows symptoms ... you send them home, deep clean, but you can stay open. ( Child isolates/has test ) If test positive, we all isolate for 14 days. if test negative, child can return and no one needs to isolate.
