Adding new terms to an old contract?

Hi all,
Just wondering if this is doable...if a child is returning to your care after a couple of years, is there any reason why their original contract (the PACEY one)can't be added to and signed again/dated appropriately? The only things that will have changed are their hours (child is now school age) and fee payments; all other emergency/medical info/ numbers parental details are the same, and provided parents have seen and signed any updated policies/permissions/procedures, and there is ample space on the contract to add amendments, I can't really see why this couldn't be done, but I'd be interested in your thoughts.

Was the original contract 'ended' in writing? You'd need to have in writing that the contract is 're-opened'... just gets messy. I'd start a fresh.

I agree.

If notice was given, then treat the old contract as finished and start afresh. In any case, I've been advised by Pacey' legal team to issue new contracts when I change my fees.

I have lots of clients changing their hours, in which case we both sign a 'notice of variation' showing the agreed hours and date when they commence.

Righto, thanks both....thought I'd just check, as I've been asked to 'babysit' said child (and his sister, whom I currently mind anyway )for a day very soon, possibly in their home for at least part of the day, but the new arrangements for his care won't start proper until the end of Sept. I've run out of the Pacey contracts, and I'm not sure if my new contracts will arrive in time for them to be completed, and want to make sure I'm covered..In this situation, would a letter to parents stating the terms of this one off arrangement suffice, in advance of signing a new contract, or am I overthinking this as usual?

I don't do contracts for what you could call 'one off' or ad-hoc care. Just payment in advance, policies and permissions and of course all the child's info/contacts info etc.
