There is now an increased focus on observations and next steps for children with the introduction of the new Welsh inspection framework.

How you do it is not prescriptive but it is often easiest to link to the Foundation Phase framework.

Although this covers 3-7 year olds there is now a profile which gives expected outcome guidelines for younger children.
