we made something similiar but not so elebrate with the older ones yesterday

Really simple and the kids made some yesterday, plus at Christmas you can use the same idea for making baubles (using old xmas cards is good).
Cut an a4 piece of paper into strips, make holes at the top and bottom of each strip and then pile them up and put a brass pin through the top and bottom and then gently open it up and it should make a ball, then add leaves etc. (Don't know if I have explained very well, so give me a shout if not sure)
Good luck and have fun.

That looks fantastic! I'll have to have a go at them! I'd like to know how you criss crossed them too, plus details of how to do the leaves and stalks...yours looks very professional.

I promise you I am not very artistic at all and in fact the criss cross was a complete fluke, its just a case of the way you pull the pieces round and because I used so many strips.
The leaves are pretty simple just cut some leaf shapes and then score a line down the middle of them with the back of the scissors and bend the leaf slightly to give it some shape. Then cut some long strips and pulled them as you do with ribbon.
Hope you all have fun, I know we did.
Hope these pics help
