How do you do yours???

Hello there,

Just wondering (as usual) if I'm doing things correctly and if anybody would mind sharing how they carry out an observation.
I do both planned and spontaneous but always feel unsure of my way of doing them.

Mostly I spot or hear something and think - that's new, that's different, wow, that's fab - and I want to share it with parents.

Sometimes I think - I've not seen the child do that recently I want to focus on it - so I will do a longer focussed obs to cover it.

Other times I am not sure the child is making good progress - so I double check by setting something up and watching / listening to see what happens.
