It certainly is if you are a member of NCMA and use their Public Liability insurance and tried to make a claim. Not sure about Morton Michel you should ring them and check.

I would say though it is always good practice to have a contract be it friend, family or a stranger. It means everyone knows where they stand.

It is my understanding that you need to use NCMA's contracts if you wish to take advantage of their legal services I cannot see anything that says you have to use their contracts in connection with public liability insurance

I would advise doing a contract whether you are minding for a friend or not - there are lots of threads on here about the pitfalls of looking after friend's children.

If you insure with NCMA and you want cover in case of non payment or other issues, then yes you must use their paperwork.

If you are insured with MM then the choice of paperwork is up to you.

Thank you Sarah - I knew that was the case with Morten Michel and I guess it would make sense to update all my contracts when I move to NCMA. Wish I'd had the foresight to start using my new NCMA contracts on my new parent - now I'll have to redo them in April! DOH!

Thanks. I am with Morton Michel now. Was with SCMA but decided not to this year as extra expense. I needed legal help twice and both times no one got back to me until I contacted head office so pretty useless if you ask me.

I will give MM a call and get it from them what to do.

    thanks
