    Default Parent copies of policies

    Hi guys.

    I am just wondering what policies you give to parents as their own copies???

    I am going to let them read them all on a mem stick and then return it to me, but another CM buddy said, that parents should have a certain few to keep at home always for example;
    1) Safeguarding policy
    2) Complaints
    3) Contact numbers

    Thank you in advance for your help

    I put all mine on a disc and give all parents a disc to keep. That way they can't possibly say they didn't know about ........

    ; paying, paying on time, not bringing a vomity child,not sending sweets , not arriving/collecting on time, giving notice, dressing the child appropriately for the weather....etc etc....

    I am planning on having 2 hard coppies of policies/proceedures, one of which parents/carers will take home to read through then sign a form specifying each policy to be singed. When the folder and signed form is returned, I will then issue each family with a copy of all policies on a disc, so they can go back to it at any time.

    I know this sounds a very complicated way of doing things, but having worked in a pre school where we had a few 'problem' parents, I don't want any reason for anyone to come back to me with 'well, we didn't see that on the policies'.

    Thank you for your reply

    What do you do when it comes to updating the policies do you, just print out the ones who have updated and give them over? or do you do the whole cd process again?

    I have mine printed out in a file where parents can read them at any mutually convenient time.

    I print the statutory policies and procedures in a booklet format so parents can have a copy to take home - I include my fees policy although that is not a statutory one.

    I do the same.

    When I update anything parents get a copy if it is a statutory policy or told in the next newsletter if it's just one for the file.

    When new parents have signed contracts, they get a printed copy of ALL of my policies and are asked to sign a statement saying they have read and understood them. They then get a new copy at every annual contract review. That way, they can never claim they didn't know about a policy!!!
