Can anyone help me with my No Smoking policy please ?

Hi am currently writing my policies and am really struggling with my No Smoking policy. Its currently 3 sentances long, not really sure what else I could put in it to be honest.

I don't have a seperate no smoking policy because as you say there is not much to write. I incorporate it into my Health and Safety policy

I do the same. It only says that my home is a No Smoking home. Not really much else you need to say really.

ah right ok thank you that seems more logical, I was asked to expand it but couldn't see how as I had already put this is a no smoking home and no one is allowed to smoke on the premises inc parents.

have a look on the bromely childminding site, they have great sample policies for you to get ideas from inc a no smoking one

Mine is short too. There will be no smoking on these premises, inside or out. No need to expand on it lol.

No smoking in the house or garden - childminder, visitors, parents, workmen etc

Actively avoid smoky atmospheres

If smoking has occurred in a room where children are playing it will have been fully aired first

Policy of stopping to admire the pretty flowers if following someone who is smoking down the road

No smoking when working

No smoking signs and parents informed about policy

Garden and drive risk assessed for cigarette debris before each session

No smoking information shared with children and included in healthy living planned activities

Ours just states the following

In accordance with the EYFS Welfare Requirements we operate a no smoking policy in the property and any vehicle used for childminding.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the house, garden or any vehicle that may be used for childminding at any time.

Children will not be taken into smoky environments and places that permit smoking will be avoided wherever possible.

All visitors to the property are not permitted to smoke.
