I do mine a bit different (possibly wrong as havent had inspection yet) but i have a file for each child sectioned as follows
    attendance sheets
    child record form
daily diaries (duplicated in parent contact book incase that gets lost)
    learning journal bits
    obs if early years
safeguarding children policy and any notes
incident forms (duplicated in incident folder)
    permission forms
    contract

    then ive got folders for
    polices
    incident forms
    fire drills
    complaints

ive got my inspection on thursday so any help would be greatly appreciated

It does not matter where or how you keep your paperwork as long as all the relevant documents are somewhere and you can find them to show your inspector. What works for one person will not suit another. I keep my attendance book and accident book on the shelf by my front door as I use them on a daily basis - it would not suit me to keep them in mindees files as these are not so accessible.

In their files I have contracts, health and permission forms, a document stating policies have been seen and read, any amendments to contracts, all about me forms and their learning journals.
