Really good! Do you think Ofsted would allow you to have over your ratios of under 5s in this situation? I have another childminder that I could share the school run with but if i kept all the under 5s i would have 6 instead of 3.

Thank you, I think the threat of snow tomorrow has given us all the push we need to write an extreme weather policy

What happens if we dont feel comfortable going out to do the school run? Are we in our rights to call parents and ask them to collect child???

I think if you have stated that in your policy then yes!

If the school called me to collect and there was 6 inches of snow and it pouring out of the sky and I had 3 x 2 year olds here then I would not risk it. I say about this in the school closure policy. I will only collect after risk assesment of the conditions outside.

That is excellent thank you for sharing!

I think it's good to write a policy so that all parents are fully aware of what you will do to keep their children safe.

I have a Risk Assessment on the parents page of my website which people might find useful to adapt and use alongside Berks' policy
