Perhaps I am being over-sensitive but let's not call it a "Complaints Number". The poster says "If you want to tell us anything about your child’s childcare, you can ring 0300 123 1231".

There could hopefully be some issues other than complaints that a parent would want to speak to Ofsted about!

Ofsted need to sort themselves out. This new number they have issued is chargeable to almost everyone whereas the the old 0845 number would have been included in many people's bundled tariff with their home phone provider (not sure about mobiles), so would have effectively been free to call and I think many Childminders know how long you can be hanging on the phone to Ofsted - the way they handle calls is worse than some of the banks!!

I spoke to Ofsted about this when the new poster was first released and they confirmed that for some considerable time, the 0845 number would still work. I am still awaiting a written response from them as to when the 0845 number will cease to work and have pointed out to them the error of their ways.

Fairly typical of Ofsted I would say.
