    Question Assesment

I have done an Obs on my mindee. (it's their first week so trying to write everything down they can and can't do so I can work from there)

XXX drew me a picture my obs is:
XXX looked through a Noddy book with me, telling me the names of each Charaacter and if they are good or bad people.
( links to Positive Relationship,CLL PSED & KUW)

XXX then decided to go and draw a picture of Noddy and his friends (learning and Development)

XXX got all the tools and resources together
    (PD)

We both sat down and I watched XXX draw. XXX Tried to cut out some paper, but was unable to use the scissors, but tried really hard. (CD &PSRN)

Next step: Teach XXX how to safely use the scissors, by providing a sheet of paper with lines on for XXX to cut along.

Hope this is ok so far?!?

What would the assesment be??? And have I forgotten anything??

The assessment is the process you go through from making the observation to thinking about next steps.

What you have done looks great!

    Sort of... yes.

You watch and listen... then you think about how it went. You ask yourself - was the activity right for the child? Did the child learn from the activity? What does this tell me about the way the child learns? How does this help me plan for the child's next steps?

Then you go ahead and write up what you think needs to come next in the child's learning journey
