Default Do childminders need to have a landline?

I know that childminders need to have access to a phone in order to make emergency calls. Do we have to have a landline or can the phone be a mobile?
I no longer use my landline but am wondering if I need to keep it for childminding?

We used to have to have one many years ago when we used the National Standards - it disappeared from the EYFS ... so it's up to you.

You need to think about what would do in an emergency if your mobile phone didn't work

The thing about modern day landline phones is that if they plug into a plug socket they will not work in a power cut. Even a wire free, cordless one, will only work if the base unit is working.

Old fashioned phones with dials used to work when there was a powercut.
