Can I ask why. What will you do if one changes their mind not have a dog.

You asked them they agreed now choose your puppy then write your ra (you may need to change house and garden) and policy.

    Then enjoy your puppy :-D

Agree with FussyElmo you don't have to get their permission to get a puppy, just inform them that you ARE, amend your policies (Health & Safety - I include in mine that my dogs will always travel in the boot when I am minding - never in the actual car), risk assess (where dog will spend most of time, how you will ensure garden is clean and safe, how you will keep up to date with worming, flea & injections, how you will manage house training), give parents the updated policies and start searching for the right puppy for your family but that will fit in with the job you do too.

I have had two puppies over the last few years while childminding.

I informed parents, didn't tell Ofsted (have been inspected since without a problem) but I do have a permission form to say parents agree that their children are around the dogs and are happy to come on walks. Also I have a risk assessment and a form showing they are de-flea'ed, wormed and vaccinated. Just cover yourself with these things to show you are conscientious and responsible and you will be fine.

    Enjoy your puppy

I agree with the others. When we got a cat, although I discussed with parents first, I didn't ask permission. The cat was a lovely addition to our family and I see it as a positive selling point when families come to visit.

    Enjoy your puppy.
