I had a family leave due to relocating...child was 8 however I responded in writing and made sure all pictures, craft activity items etc were up to date and handed over.
I got the parent to sign a form to say that contract was to be terminated on x date and all fees were to be paid up to date by x date.
Plus I got her a leaving pressie and always send birthday cards and xmas cards etc...miss her

For an EY child I would ensure LJ is all up to date and if you want to write up a summary of the child's development too...

I also add if they are claiming child tax credits that it is their responsibility to notify HMRC that their child is no longer coming to me.

I keep a copy in case there is ever a query from HMRC.

i would do a letter confirming receipt, confirming last day (if it's correct or make sure you put the correct last day), how much final payment is, any adjustments, wish her well and remind her to inform tax credits that she is leaving you.

    then get advertising. good luck
