Hello everyone
Does anyone have a Social Networking/Facebook policy? I'm struggling to find one to use for me childminding setting. I've been advised that we need one in place.

Sorry -why have you been advised to have a policy?
Hi
I went on a Managers and Leaders briefing regarding the new EYFS and they have stated that all settings should have this as a policy. To be honest I think it is a good idea as most of the people I know use facebook etc. It would be good to have in place so parents as well as me know not to comment on work.

I don't have a policy for my personal use of facebook and neither do I need one. It is entirely unrelated to my work. I will not be putting in place a policy dictating how I may use my personal time, and how I may socialize.
I believe we all need a policy with regard to social networking sites and the like from September to comply with the revised EYFS, along with a mobile phone and camera one
It annoys me, having read about several experiences on here, that people delivering guidance on the new EYFS seem to be making things up as they go along!
I have a Confidentiality Policy - that covers everything as far as I am concerned. My Facebook is for me and I don't add parents to my page, neither do I talk about work on it.
Rather than doing a policy, you could add a comment to your confidentiality policy saying that confidentiality is a 2 way process and just as you will not talk about families on social networking sites, you expect them to show the same respect and not talk about you or your family. (or words to that effect - it's badly written!)
simple i don't do facebook !
thanks Bridey...looks like madmamma realises this as well....her original post has vanished????
No, its still there!
sorry my mistake...I can see it now x
