    Default Protecting yourself against parents who do not pay

    What I do not want to do here...

    I do not want to upset NCMA members who have bought their insurance as part of their membership through NCMA's recommended insurers;

    I do not want to upset those insured by Morton Michel insurance company;

    I do not want to get bogged down in whether I am using exactly the 'right' wording or not to talk about NCMA membership vs insurance bought by NCMA members etc. That is not what this document is about.

    What I want to do here...

    I want to give straight forward, good advice to all childminders about how to avoid situations where parents do not pay you...

    AND if you are already heading down that road I want you to know what you might have to do to get your money back...

    AND I want you to know what either Morton Michel or the NCMA legal help line will do on your behalf if you are not paid.

    I hope I have achieved my aims

    Thank you to all those involved in proofing and checking legalities.

    This document is a joint effort and has had a lot of input from various members.

    Edited to note - a copy of this document has now been put into free downloads

    thank you Sarah. I think the page outlining what MM offer against what cover NCMA offer might make interesting reading to NCMA. Can't they just subcontract their insurance services to MM?? it would be a whole lot easier!
