    Default What would you do?

Due to start ML in 8-weeks time, NCMA renewal just come through for March (I think it runs out). Wont be back working until February though, would you pay for a new years insurance even though you wouldn't be working??? Not sure whether to just pay it, switch or call to see if I can de-register for a year??

Phone NCMA & ask. I can't remember all the details, but I'm sure when a friend was in a similar situation a few years ago they put her insurance on hold for while she wasn't working.

Thanks Mouse, good thinking Just called them, they can suspend membership for six months maximum. They are sending me out a maternity form today. Membership runs out beginning of March. Works out well as I will need it for March but then can suspend it for six months and then start it up again ahead of me going back to work

If you current insurance will still be valid up to the date you finish for ML then don't renew until next year.
Up here you can put your registration on hold if you stop working (but not giving up permanently) IYSWIM all you need to do is have an inspection before you start up again.

NCMA have said they will suspend for a maximum of six months which is what I'll go with. As I can work 10 keeping in touch days, it might come in handy?

They will send you a maternity suspension form to fill in. It asks when your renewal is due, when you would like to suspend and when you would like it to restart unless you return after 26 weeks and it'll restart once 26wks has passed. HTH x
