    Well, here goes:
She arrived after cancelling the week before as her car broke down, I answered the door with the chain on and inspected her ID before she set foot in the house. Was holding baby no1 as she was crying having been pushed off the walker moments before. When she came in baby no2 decided to get upset, put no1 down (who had calmed and was now smiling sweetly at the inspector) and comforted no2. I told her where all my docs are (organised into seperate folders under the ECM outcomes, with a contents list on the front) she said she would observe for a while. I did tell her that in about 30mins they would need a sleep and she would have to sit in the kitchen (where all my info is) as no2 sleeps in a cot in the lounge. Carried on as usual playing with them, got no 1 & no2 to play with each other also (they were fantastic one sitting on the walker & the other pushing) just played with the toys and followed their lead. Thankfully they both laid down on a cushion at the same time so I put no1 down for his sleep first and remided her to go in the kitchen so she wasn't in the room with him when I wasn't there. Took no2 upstairs for her nap, both went stright to sleep. I then wrote her in the visitor book explaining that as no2 was upset when she arrived I couldn't do it then. I tided up the toys & set up more toys for the pm. She only asked a couple of questions as I had written everything in my sef so it had all the answers she needed. I hadn't done it on the ofsted site but had done it all on word & gave her that to read which was ok - she understood that their website has been a nightmare. I showed her my planning, obs & child contact books (from the bromley site) on which I have put a photo of No2. Also had lots of posters up, notice board with info of upcoming local events, daily plans, weekly menu plan, training certs, welcome poster in door & no smoking sign in door & baby sleeping sign hooked over front door knob. I had their lunch ready(sandwich I made that morning to save time) so when no1 woke up she had hers first & as she was finishing no2 woke & had his. Cleaned their teeth after lunch & changed nappies using gloves & wiped mat down with a milton wipe, put nappies in the disposal bin. The obs I've been doing are 1 per day while i'm getting to know no2 & making sure I look at all areas of EYFS for the obs then do 1 planned activity a week based around these obs - she was very happy with this & the only recommendation she could think of was to carry on doing what I am with the eyfs. As it's international space week I had stars on the walls of the playroom & pictures my older one & nephew had done - we also sang space themed songs & had space books from the library - all in all she was really happy with everything

You made it sound like a walk in the park

It sounds like completing your SEF can really make all the difference.

I bet you are still walking round with a huge grin on your face.

That is such good news - you should feel really proud of yourself.

Sounds like I need to make a start on my SEF - but the thought just scares the heck out of me
