Default ICO...Do i need to register?

I have papercopies of all personal documentation. No personal information is held on my computer. I have permission to take photo's for obs these are printed onto obs forms at weekend, sent to parents via e-mail if requested and then deleted. No photo's are stored. Have just taken the quick self- assessment and it say's No! Not the fee that concerns me, i will pay it if i need to. Ofsted due next week and want it clear in my head if she asks about it.

As far as I was aware you need to be registered if you take any digital photos at all, so on your camera or phone.

    One of the questions is:

    Are you processing personal information?
    Yes
    No
‘Processing’ means doing any of the following with the information:

    obtaining it
    recording it
    storing it
    updating it
    sharing it
‘Personal information’ means any detail about a living individual that can be used on its own, or with other data, to identify them.

I would say this covers photos and if you put "yes" as your answer the next question does ask about using a digital camera.

If in doubt give them a ring. They are very helpful, but I have a feeling they will tell you you have to register.

Yes you need to register with ICO as you are using digital equipment to take photographs. Even if you deleted immediately after printing the actual taking the photo then the printing means that you have use digital equipment. Not to mention the uploading on to a computer and e-mailing.

You take the photos and store them on your camera/phone until the weekend.

The only way to take photos that does not need to be registered is if you use the old fashioned cameras with films that need to be sent or taken for processing.

I think the only way you can take photos and not have to register is with a Polaroid camera and those you get developed. It sounds like you are taking and storing photos, whatever the length of time, so you would need to register

I think mine came in the post. There may be an email option or you could print off the confirmation page.

My certificate came by email after a little while. As long as you can show you've applied, I would have thought that would be ok with the inspector x
