    Default changes to layout

    I have changed the layout to my downstairs space. we have removed the hall wall and blocked the through room to make two seperate rooms. should i of informed Ofsted of the changes? this was done a year ago

    You should inform Ofsted before you have any major works done on the house - it is a requirement of the Eyfs.

    Then when they are done you should submit a risk assessment before the children use the area you have changed - or that's what I was told when I had a conservatory added. I wasn't allowed to use it without written permission.

    Hi Peacebabe ,
    As Sarah says, these changes should have been reported at the time, in your case, mainly with regard to the building works and how this affected the day to day care and safety of the children.

    I presume you have up to date risk assessements for the new layout and would think this is sufficient now that the horse has bolted, so to speak.

    In short: don't beat yourself up - I wouldn't, in your position. You'll know for next time
