Default Next step from ofsted inspection, Do you know what she on about?

    Hi!
I was inspected back in march and got good which i was pleased about, I was just adding some notes to my sef so when i get around to updating I have some idea what to put.

I read my inspection report again for some ideas and my next step say...
What steps need to be taken to improve provision further?

To further improve the early years provision the registered person should:

implement systems to monitor and evaluate the quality of the childminding service to support ongoing development.

what do you think this means?

I have a grid with all the age/stage and I date then when achieved, so i dont know what else she want.

    Many thanks
    Leanne

I think it means your development and the service you provide, rather than the children's development.

So, what system do you have in place to evaluate what you do - parental questionnaires, a note book writing down what you do well & any changes you want to make. Then if a parents made a suggestion how would you go about implementing it (if it was practical)?

Did you have a SEF in place when she did your inspection?

Then give her a ring and say "excuse me, what exactly do you mean?"

The inspector should have explained her recommendations when she gave you feedback at the end of the inspection.

If she didn't I'd e-mail (so you have a written record) and ask - you never know she might have you mixed up with someone else!

    Miffy xx
    Keep smiling!
