Default Got a good but feel flat - knock sense into me please!

Its just that I work hard at what I do, and enjoy it too, and I put a lot of work into my SEF ready for my inspection and mrs O hasn't even read it it transpires. Nor did she look at my folder of policies, parent questionnaire, children's daily diaries, my baseline assessments, my contracts...goodness knows what else she didnt bother with. I assumed she would arrive and sit and read first, but she was straight into typing up 'evidence' based on goodness knows what. Wierd. She was gone in 2 hours. Is this usual? Should I just be grateful??!

I don't know what to say, I am a newly registered, but I thing I know how you feel (disappointed) after such a hard work and Mr O even did not look at your work properly

Well that is not one, the SEF take FOREVER to do and for her not to bother reading it is rude! Mine had read through mine and knew all about the children that I look after.

Was this your first graded inspection?? She should have looked through all of your paperwork, they are pretty hot on paperwork and judging you because of your paperwork.

What was your grade? Were you happy with it?

If you were not happy with your inspection I would complain hun x x

I cannot believe an inspector didn't read your SEF! As Chelle says that is downright rude

If you are not happy with the wording of your report I suggest you complain.

However good is good and you should be proud of yourself

I hoped my first grading would have been 2 hours, but NO mine was FOUR hours long and I felt frazzled at the end (but I got a Good so when the dust settled I was really proud of myself)

So tomorrow you will look at things differently, and hopefully be proud of your grading.

They are a weird breed! My inspector sat in my dining room looking at my files and folders. She ignored me and the mindees, when I went to collect DS1 from playgroup she went and sat in her car. When I came back she handed me a big folder and asked where my risk assessment were (the section was labelled in the folder). I showed her the risk assessments and she returned to the dining room while I took the children into the kitchen to make lunch. She then disappeared outside to make a series of phone calls.

She gave me a good grade too - mine must have been totally paperwork based as she did not watch me interact with any mindees at any time!

    Like I said - weird!!

    Well done on your good.

My inspector was lovely, she checked all my paperwork and watch me with the baby ( I'd only had him 3 days!!) but, she was the lady that had done my pre reg and had given me a list of things that NEEDED to be sorted before my inspection, she didnt check anything around my house which I was a little bit upset about as we had worked so hard and spent a lot of money we didn't have but I was still very happy with my 'Good'.
Congratulations on your GOOD, it's fantastic news and you should be very proud, and you know in your self that you have worked very hard and as long as the parents and children notice and appreciate it, they are the real people that matter xxx

Did she actually say that she had not read it? I know mine read it before she came and then noted what she especially was looking for during the inspection.

i didnt do sef and i didnt need to!!!!! she could see all my self improvement from my work over the last 4 years - courses attended, newsletters i do, old policies behind the latest ones, and so on and so on. it is very hard to get outstanding! they have a series of benchmarks that must be 'ticked' off to meet the different levels. i was borderline good to outstanding (i got 5 1's and 12 2's) and she wanted to put more 1's in but didnt want to risk the quality assurance team putting it back down. i have to say i didnt expect the grade i got - thought i was 2's with some 3's so i'm really happy. dont be down hearted - good is fabulous!
