Can inspector see contracts
I have my inspection this week and on the phone the lady said she will want to see dbs, first aid, safeguarding, meds records etc... But also my contracts? I'm not happy to show her as these are legal documents between me and the parents. Can I refuse to show her?

An inspector can see contracts to confirm contracted hours (to check ratios) I understand, they may also be checking you have parental rights info etc. No harm in asking the inspector why s/he wants to see contracts- they should be able to explain.

Ofsted have far-reaching powers - the inspector can ask to see anything relating to your business including contracts...
Nothing is confidential from Ofsted... they can even look at income paperwork / invoices to check ratios if they want to...
Contracts contain info about parental responsibility, safeguarding board local to the child etc that they will want to check you are requesting from parents

This is rather worrying my contracts are incredibly simple documents stating parents details, my details and Childs details and hours and days child will attend...none of the other info mentioned. Surely this is ok?

See EYFS, Section 3, 3.72. As long as you have all that info recorded somewhere for each child than you are fine. It might be on the contract, it might be on a separate information form. Ofsted can ask to see any of that info, wherever it might be recorded.

We all have different documents - I assume you have a child information form or something similar to record other required information

I had my contracts/child record forms upstairs in folders when had my inspection in May as never been asked by an inspector to see them. This one asked about 'starting points' and how I collected them and asked to see the child record forms. Didn't bother me really.
